Dystrophin data

by Andre on 29 July 2005

So the protein arrived, we’ve done some measurements, and it looks like it survived the long journey. In fact, we’ve seen no evidence that it was harmed at all. If these aren’t force extension curves of single dystrophin molecules then Bob’s your uncle (even if Bob is your uncle, these are still force extension curves of dystrophin).

With data like this, I think a cure for muscular dystrophy (not to mention cancer and AIDS) is achievable within a year if only there was a massive influx of new funding. Ok, maybe that’s a little too ambitious, but I’m just a grad student so you can’t expect me to not pick up a few tips from my superiors.
